21 Asian Merfolk to follow in 2021 #MerfolkStopAsianHate

Let’s be honest, what’s happening overseas in my home country – The United States of America – is causing a ripple effect across the world. As a mermaid, I know it’s our responsibility to raise awareness, support, show kindness, empathise and elevate inclusivity to all, which is why I love Mermaiding so much. On 26th March, the Merfolk community will band together to #StopAsianandPacificIslanderHate. In a global effort to spread positive waves and support our Asian and Pacific Islander Merfolk family, here are 21 Merfolk to follow in 2021.

Mermaid Lauren

Edited by Okeana Merkitty Mermaid

Originally from Oregon, Mermaid Lauren is a digital designer + illustrator now living in Sydney, Australia. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, she spent her childhood swimming in waterfalls, learning about the world of Faeries and dreaming about being a Mermaid. When she isn't doing beach clean-ups with her local environmental groups or swimming in the ocean with friends, you can find her drawing comics about her adventures as a mermaid here. She also loves baby bunnies, Sailor Moon and bubble tea.
